Luna Carmoon is best known for her 2023 feature Hoard. Her video for Fontaines D.C.’s “In The Modern World”, released in August 2024 with the album Romance, won Best New Director at the UK Music Video Awards 2025 and Best Rock/Alternative Video, Newcomer.
The film stars Ewan Mitchell and is built around car-jitsu, the niche sport of grappling inside a car. LBBOnline reports it was shot over one night, mostly in a dimly lit car park in South London, with multiple cameras inside and outside the vehicle and real car-jitsu competitors in the cast. Promonews lists Chris Murdoch as producer, ProdCo as production company, editing at Trim, Scott Wright as commissioner and XL Recordings as label.
“It’s Fight Club crossed with dogging.”
She followed it with “It’s Amazing To Be Young” for the same band in 2025. A director we keep coming back to.
